After boot camp, it took him ages for him to rise in the ranks. He did hold a bitter regard to the fact that he didn’t get any recognition for any work that he did despite doing much better than his colleagues. Despite all of the hatred and negativity that the other Turians spat his way, he held his head up high and ignored it to the best of his ability. He learned early on that he had to rely on himself and only himself if he was to get ahead in life and the military. Though he didn’t know that he would be hated due to his pale features. When it came time for boot camp Avi knew one thing-that he was going to have to work hard. Avitus formed quite a bond with them, so much that after boot camp, he took the same variation of markings–those of the particular region of the Paarthia Colony where they lived–and their surname.
He'd never forget the lessons they taught him. Their lessions were harsh they were preparing him for the world ahead. At least he was able to get out of the wretched orphanage and in a family. Since they were only foster parents they would raise him and teach him everything they knew until he could get shipped off to boot camp. It was like a whole new world appeared before Avi’s eyes. While the State was raising him, Avi began to worry if anyone would take in a pale child such as himself. Was it because he wasn’t a good son? Or was it because they were ashamed of the fact that they had a pale offspring when the norm was of darker hue? He would have been fine with them keeping him, with them being cold and harsh and commanding, even cruel, but no–they'd decided they would wipe their hands of him, because of what he was.

It would be a while before he would fully understand what that meant (adulthood was when he would realize it to its full meaning).Īnd so, time went by and Avi wondered why his birth parents gave him up. He learned later on that his people had a term for pale Turians like him- Feritax Candidas (or 'White Savage') Syndrome.
AVITUS RIX SKIN
Because of his unusual skin tone, his birth parents opted to put him up in an orphanage without a second thought. While they were of a darker hue, he was born a paler skin-tone, almost like an albino amongst his people.
